Vaccine supply 2018

Department of Health update regarding Influenza vaccines.

Australia and Victoria are experiencing an unprecedented demand for influenza vaccines this year across the public and private market.
The shortage is likely to be due to the severe influenza season in 2017 and a significant demand for people to be protected through vaccination this year.
The department will now need to ration the distribution of influenza vaccine, so that incoming stock can be carefully matched against need.
The department recommends continuing to prioritise stock for those most at risk.

Repeat prescriptions and specialist referrals

Generally, it is a requirement that patients make an appointment with the doctor for prescriptions or specialist referrals. In some cases, if there has been a prior arrangement with the doctor, these can be picked up from reception after giving at least 24 hours notice.

There is a fee for all scripts and referrals.
